“Are You Feeling The (Fall Back) Time Change”

Nope, you are not going crazy for possibly feeling “out of sync” this week.  When this time of year rolls around  I get tired easier and need to be gentle with myself.  This involves eating healthier, less sugar and caffeine and more fruits and vegetables.  I also give myself permission to rest and allow my body’s rhythm to adjust.  It takes me 3-5 days to adjust.

I also do not like it when it is dark outside at 5:30PM.  I am someone who loves the sun and craves the sunlight.  But… there can be benefits.   I love to cook soup, eat hot meals  and settle in early.   I go to bed early and upon rising witness the beautiful sunrise.  I think of it as “nestling” in to a new rhythm for the next several months and maybe it gives us an excuse to sleep longer.

What you need to know about the Time Change:

Time changes our circadian rhythm and as a result we feel more tired.

How to tackle tiredness:

  1.  Get more rest
  2. Take Supplements
  3. Exercise
  4. Eat more fat.  ie avocados, nuts.  If we don’t get good fat in our diet certain hormones get imbalanced which can add to tiredness.
  5. Use your own compass to figure out much sleep you need.  It is different for everyone.
  6. Take Melatonin.  We are more deprived of this hormone in the winter months
  7. Avoid driving in the dark.  It’s harder to see.

8.  Avoid projects in the evening.  I once heard we retain less when we are tired.

Greater Health & Wholeness

I am more passionate than ever to discover  what it is like to embody greater health and wholeness.  I would like to say at this stage in my life I don’t have a choice and I’m open to embrace change.   I have found it is imperative to take care of my precious vessel and feed it nourishing and sustainable foods.  a.k.a. Keep it clean!  My body deserves my attention!  What’s that saying “If MaMa Ain’t happy nobody is happy.”  I feel happier and healthier when I introduce more fruits and vegetables into my lifestyle along with using discernment of what quenches my palette!  I choose not to eat food that has no nutritional value to it….BUT.. I am not perfect and don’t always keep on track but I do my best!   I’ve heard people say: “Well your gonna die anyways so why not eat what ever you want.”  I disagree:  You are what you eat and we are given this precious body and it is important to treat it with upmost favor.  I feel better physically, physiologically, mentally and spiritually when I do this.

I used to not prioritize food and eat unconsciously.   I have come to know that when I make conscious decisions when it comes to food I feel better about myself,  my mind feels clear and I make better decisions.  There is one area I could improve upon and that is limiting my coffee intake.    I have 1 cup a day and I think I will cut it down to several times a week and see how this goes.  Sometimes it is easy to do what others are doing when it comes to eating habits.

I recently took up drinking celery juice in the AM before I put anything in my stomach.  Anthony Williams (Medical Medium) has written several books and there is a lot of benefit from doing this.  Celery Juice is good for many body aliments.  According to him one of the aliments is Digestive Issues.  I have been doing it for several weeks now and I do not as of yet have any concrete evidence how it is helping me BUT at this point it feels digestible and soothing and as they say “The Proof is in the Pudding.” and give it time!

If you interested in reading the potent healing properties (see below):

If people knew all the potent healing properties of celery juice, it would be widely hailed as a miraculous superfood.

Celery has an incredible ability to create sweeping improvements for all kinds of health issues.

CELERY JUICE STANDS ALONE

Celery is truly the savior when it comes to chronic illness.

I’ve seen thousands of people who suffer from chronic and mystery illness restore their health by drinking 16 ounces of celery juice daily on an empty stomach.

That’s why long ago I started the movement of drinking pure, straight celery juice, and it’s why I want to be sure people know how to use this potent drink correctly and successfully.

Celery juice is most powerful when you drink it SOLO.

While it’s great to consume other green juices or vegetables juices and add in items like spinach, kale, parsley, cilantro, or apples, drink those mixed juices at a different time than your straight celery juice.

These blends function differently than what I’m recommending as your greatest tool for recovering your health: pure celery juice taken on an empty stomach.

If you drink your celery juice first thing in the morning, it will also strengthen your digestion of foods you eat for the rest of the day.

How do I make celery juice?

Ingredients:
1 large bunch of celery

Directions:
Rinse the celery and run it through a juicer. Drink immediately for best results.

Alternatively, you can chop the celery and blend it in a high-speed blender until smooth. Strain well and drink immediately.

What is the ideal amount of celery juice to receive the healing benefits?

16 oz is the magic number.

Increasing your intake up to 24-32 oz a day, can be extremely beneficial for many battling chronic illness.

How much celery to make 16 oz ?

One large bunch typically makes 16 oz of juice.

When is the best time to drink celery juice?

Best consumed first thing in the morning before food.

If that is not possible, anytime during the day 15-30 minutes before or after eating something – is the 2nd best option.

Which juicer do you recommend?

Greenstar Juicer, Omega Juicer, and Aicock Juicer are all great depending on your budget, but any juicer will work

Does the celery have to be organic?

Organic is best, but if you can’t get organic don’t worry.

You can purchase conventionally grown celery.

Then wash each stalk with a drop of natural fragrance-free dish soap, followed by rinsing in water.

If you don’t have natural clear dish soap, give the celery a quick rinse in warm water.

Making sure to rinse each stalk.

Can I make celery juice ahead of time?

It’s best to drink celery juice immediately after juicing.

But if you don’t have options other wise, do not let it go past one day (24 Hours).

If using this option, make sure to seal it in a mason jar, and store in the fridge.

Do I need to cut off the leaves of the celery, they taste bitter?

You can leave them on, or cut them off.

Some people do prefer to cut them off, because they can make the juice a little bitter.

Can I freeze celery juice, and make batches ahead of time?

If you cannot drink your celery juice after making it, and making ahead and freezing is your only option, then freezing it is okay.

But this is a last resort, and should not be relied on.

Fresh is always best.

Celery juice’s powerful medicinal qualities will decrease when freezing it.

Can I chop and wash celery the night before so it’s ready to juice in the morning?

Yes, this is great way to prepare and save some time for the next morning.

What if I can’t stand the taste of straight celery juice?

If you find the taste of straight celery juice too strong, you can juice one cucumber and/or one apple with the celery.

This is a great option as you get adjusted to the flavor.

As you get used to it, keep increasing the ratio of celery; the greatest benefits come when celery juice is consumed on it’s own.

Is it okay to add lemon or lime to my celery juice?

Celery juice works best on it’s own.

Adding any other ingredients to the juice will dilute it’s medicinal properties.

Wait 15- 30 minutes after drinking, before consuming anything else.

Can I just eat celery instead of juicing it?

The reason we juice the celery versus eating it, is because juicing and removing the pulp (fiber) is the only way to get the powerful healing benefits; for healing chronic illness.

Eating celery itself is helpful and should be part of your diet, but you will not be able to consume enough celery to get the benefits of juicing it.

You wouldn’t be able to receive the concentrated undiscovered cluster salts, that do all of the following :

Quickly rebuild your hydrochloric acid so that your stomach can break down protein.

If protein isn’t broken down properly it will cause gut rot.

Strong hydrochloric acid is important to kill off pathogens entering your mouth.

Celery Juice increases and strengthens your bile.

Strong bile is important for the break down fats, and for the killing off pathogens; that have made their way into your body.

Eating straight celery wouldn’t allow you to get enough of celery’s cluster salts; that acts as antiseptics for pathogens.

Celery juice restores your central nervous system.

Removes old toxins and poisons, such as: old pharmaceuticals from your liver.

Is celery juice okay to consume while pregnant?

Yes, celery juice is safe and healthy to consume while pregnant.

But each person is different, so listen to your body.

If it feels too cleansing, you can try 16 oz of straight cucumber juice instead.

Can I add ice to my celery juice?

It’s best not to add ice, ice will dilute the healing properties of the celery juice.

Is it normal to experience diarrhea after drinking celery juice?

This is a normal detox reaction that some individuals that have a higher level of toxins may experience.

Celery juice will kill off unproductive bacteria in the gut, and can cause diarrhea.

Or in many people a looser stool, at first.

It also helps purge the liver, and can create some diarrhea – if the individual has an extremely toxic liver. Almost everyone today has some degree of liver toxicity, which can lead to countless symptoms and conditions. Find out more about how this develops and how you can support your liver in Liver Rescue.

If the reaction is really intense you can start with a lower amount such as : 2-8 oz of celery juice, and work up from there.

If it is still too intense, try 16 oz of straight cucumber juice.

Cucumber juice is more gentle, until you can handle celery juice.

I feel really tired after drinking celery juice, and experience an increase in symptoms, why does this happen?

This is a normal detox reaction especially for someone who may have toxic blood caused by viruses such as Epstein Barr, and bacteria such as Streptococcus; which can be a low grade infection that someone can have for years.

Celery juice is very healing, and the mineral salts will begin to kill off pathogens like viruses such as Epstein Barr and Shingles, as well as bacteria such as Streptococcus.

Giving some people who may already be feeling symptoms on–and–off in their life such as : fatigue and other symptoms, a temporary feeling of the symptoms coming back.

These symptoms will be short and brief.

This is a powerful healing step that celery juice can offer for long term future health — WITHOUT symptoms.

I experience more bloating after celery juice, what causes this?

Celery juice rapidly speeds up digestion.

It does this by prompting the liver to increase bile production, and instantly strengthening the stomachs hydrochloric acid production.

Which then begins to break down old undigested rotting protein, old rancid fats trapped at the bottom of the stomach, and in the small intestinal tract — that have been there for decades, in everyone.

Once these fats and proteins dissolve, a feeling of bloating occurs that can sometimes be mild to severe, depending on how toxic someone’s digestive tract has become.

Along with how much old rotten undigested debris is in their digestive tract.

I experience stomach pain or upset after drinking celery juice, what is causing this?

This is when someone’s stomach nerves are sensitive.

The vagus nerve is the main nerve that sends signals, and helps the stomach to function.

Often low grade viral infections such as Shingles and the Epstein Barr, create a lot of neurotoxins that mildly inflame the vagus nerve.

So when you drink celery juice, it begins to clean the neurotoxins off the tiny nerve endings inside the stomach lining.

This can cause a gentle reaction.

Also many peoples stomachs are filled with bacteria such as E. Coli, Streptococcus and H. Pylori.

These bacteria die off rapidly which can prompt a spasm, that can be temporarily painful.

Saint Margaret’s Chapel, Edinburgh, Scotland

I had the privilege of visiting Edinburgh, Scotland with a friend over the past 2 years.  We decided not to go this year but I am reminded of the beauty, fun and eloquence of visiting The Royal Mile.  Edinburgh Castle sits on volcanic rock at the top of Royal Mile.  I was out of breath when I reached the top of the Royal Mile, even though I did not walk a mile!  St. Margaret’s Chapel is the oldest building in Edinburgh.  It was first built in the 12th century and was not used after the reformation.  Fortunately, it was restored in 1851-1852 with the support of Queen Victoria.  Interesting to note that the style of architecture was during the reign of David.  I thought that was pretty cool!

Cliff House in Maine

I recently spent several days at the Cliff House in Maine.  I have been wanting to go there for some time now.  Many people have told me how much they love that area (Maine that is).  I can definitely see why they would!  The Cliff House is literally on the edge of a cliff with the view of the vast Atlantic Ocean.  I could sit for hours staring at the water and rocks.  We dined at “The Tiller Restaurant and “Nubb’s Lobster Shack.  Both were good.  I also was favored with a beautiful view of the Ocean from my room.  I found it to be very calm and relaxing.  A indoor and outdoor pool along with a jacuzzi where also on the grounds.

Not far from where we were was many restaurants and hotels. We ate at a place called “Anchorage by the Sea”  looking out into the Atlantic Ocean.  Below is a picture of it. IMG_7338The last night we listened to a “solo” guitarist reminiscing to songs by the “Eagles” and many other artists.  If your looking for a get-a-way and want to enjoy beauty this is one of my favorites!

How a “Boating” accident impacted my family!

I was in an boating accident on the weekend of July 4th, 2017.  In my wildest dreams I never thought this would happen to me, worse yet my entire family (except my son).  My children are in their 20’s.  Intuition is powerful ~ When I stepped on the boat I had a feeling to not go on the boat ride but my stubbornness overrode this feeling.

We came upon a boat that needed towing.   I immediately said “yes” which is not like me.  I sat at the tip of the boat with 2 of Megan’s (my daughter) friends.  We threw a line to the boat and it was probably 3 minutes into the tow when myself and the 2 other gals had a premonition something was about to happen!  …and out of the blue “my husband says they are going to hit us.”  I looked up and saw a boat headed straight towards us.  No time to think or do anything.  They hit the right side of our boat where my husband was driving and ripped out the right side of our boat.  Thankfully we all survived.

We stood there in disarray for a moment and it was completely quite.  The windshield on the right and left side of the boat was shattered in very small pieces and my thought was.  .. oh know someone died! I began to panic as I saw blood on myself and some of the others.  My eyes were open but I did not want to see.   I did a head check and everyone was accounted for.    I saw Megan’s friend crying and she wanted to get out of the boat.  Yep, I felt responsible for everyone!  Always a mother!  I was scared due to the fact I did not know if someone got injured very badly.  Everyone was scared, in shock and crying, even my husband who never shows his feelings.  I was confused because the boat that hit us stayed at bay and did not even offer to help.  Eventually someone did come to help and got the girls who were crying off the boat and towed us into land.  Grateful there was no injures to the boat we were towing but one quick look I could see that they were also in shock.

When I arrived on land I was very grateful and was relieved I was no longer on the boat. From what I saw everyone had that feeling!  I felt powerless due to the fact I saw my daughter crying and some of her friends.  I felt sad that we had this experience.  What I noticed within myself is that I could not form a sentence.  I did this for a few days.  Fear, and anger was my best friend.  It was hard to comprehend what had happened.

Several of us went to the hospital and everything was okay.  What kept going through my mind was how precious life is and it could be gone in an instant!  I also realized none of us were meant to die.

On the way back to my Lake House I was scared that we were going to get in a car accident and my daughter’s felt like that too.  When I arrived back to the house we were humbled, frightened and grateful for this experience.   It’s been 6 months and yesterday I finally (6 months later)  I went to the Lake House and I was glad I did cuz I cried and cried the fears and emotions of what had happened came barreling in.  I had no idea of the amount of fear I carried around with me for 6 months.  that I had that was crippling me until I came face to fa

13 Steps to Empowerment

This is my empowerment steps.  I thought maybe writing about it would be most beneficial.  Anne’s Yoga sutra. hehe

1.  Notice the resistance

2.  Stray away from fixing, healing.  Just Be

3.  Move forward and trust everything is working out perfectly and there is a divine intelligence

4.  Everyone is on our side.  Give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

5.  Gently move forward and we are more alike than different.

6.  See the good or “god” in everyone we meet.

7.  When you or I feel “triggered”  meet myself, yourself with gentle loving compassion.  Tap into intuition.  True intuition has no emotional charge.

8.  Know that everything you are experiencing is “okay”.

9.  Keep a journal for your progress. Look at it every several months to remind yourself of how far you have come.

10.  When you are faced with pain in the body.  Know there is an answer.  Help comes in unimaginable ways ~ health profession, a conversation you overheard, friends, family or in a dream.    Care for the body with whatever remedy is needed.

11.  Lessen your “seriousness”.  Laugh even if it is fake.  Laughing is contagious and it is a healing balm not only for yourself but those around you.

12.  Notice the “lies” we can tell ourselves.

13.  Stray away from drama.

What is Body/Mind Integration?

starts-with-youI truly believe I am beginning to understand the meaning of “Body/Mind” Integration. Being peaceful & grateful is essential in my daily living circumstances.  It has been a gradual process.  Let me explain:

You may ask what got me to this place?  Commitment, letting go of drama, and noticing how I respond to triggers.

Letting go of drama involves allowing life to play out without getting involved in other peoples situations and at the same time being a good listener.  We as human beings “feel” better when we seemingly fix other peoples problems.  I know that I do not want anyone to fix me or tell me what is best.  Letting go of drama also includes letting go of our stories, ie. past hurts, regrets and gossip.  To notice what you are noticing without judgement.

Triggers:  We all get triggered by events and situations.  It’s important to notice when one blames another for a perceived misfortune.  This is what I experience when I have been triggered.  1. Somatic response to a situation, i.e.. gut feeling or feeling heavy.  Most of the time it is a emotional response to a situation such as hurt, anger, sadness, and fear.  Integration occurs when one allows the emotion to surface through completion.  The key is to notice the emotion as best as you can without judgement, and breathe and allow.   Sometimes a memory will “trigger” an emotion. When this happens I immediately try to micromanage it which only creates frustration.  I have also “distracted myself” from feeling. i.e. going to the fridge, stifling it etc.  Most of the time it has nothing to do with what is happening in the moment.

An opening occurs when we allow the emotions to cascade through our bodies.  The more I STOP, SLOW DOWN and BREATHE without judging myself the more grace and ease I feel.  Remember ~ not to take yourself seriously.  Run towards yourself not away from yourself.  Someone once told me being “uncomfortable” is your greatest teacher.  If you feel scared or unsafe do what is necessary.  It can be scary in the beginning especially if your not used to it.  Call a friend, go for a walk.  Triggers are fantastic and it is a gateway to one’s evolution.  So trigger away!

Love Is Letting Go Of Your Children …

I’mIMG_5088-1-300x225 53 and I cannot believe I am at this place again!  Being “needy” so my children will love me.  Bah humbug!  I know my children love me so what is the issue?  I remember after I had my first child my Mother was visiting and I noticed how much she wanted to be loved by me when I already inherently loved her.  It felt like I was being suffocated.  As I traced the thread back this started since the time I was born.

I swore up and down that I would never be like this!  Wrong! Wanting to be loved at all costs.  Yes,  this is hard to admit.  Now the declaration is to take conscious action.  I started to notice I don’t say “No” when I need to out of fear I won’t be liked.  i.e.. my daughter asked for money for the hundredth time when I clearly knew I needed to say “No” but I gave it to her anyway.

I know fixing a situation even with money is not empowering.  My gut never lies.  The only person I am in charge of is myself.  Yep, our children are not ours they belong to God!

I Did A 21 Day Cleanse And lost 10 lbs. Here’s What I Learned

I gave up all my vices – Coffee, Alcohol, Gluten, Sugar, Dairy And Meat for 21 days!  I did this because I wanted to lose weight and feel better.  I also needed to eat differently but I did not know where to beIMG_0082-300x200gin.  A friend told me about Dr. Junger’s 21 day cleanse and I decided to give it a go.  I liked the idea that he was a Doctor and had written a cookbook called “Clean Eats” and I was curious to see if I had any food sensitivities.

Not eating after 8 at night I must admit was the hardest part along with omitting coffee and cheese.  I’m usually “not going by the rules” kind of person but I was curious to see what the results would be when I was finished.  Low and behold I was blown away with my experience.

Here’s what I learned:

1.  My Bloating went away.

For as long as I can remember I have always had a bloated stomach.  After 1 week I did not have a bloated stomach and my digestive tract felt cleaner and healthier.  After the 21 Day I re-introduced Gluten back into my diet and I became bloated and “gassy.”   That is proof in the pudding!

2.  At night I felt at ease and slept better.

Having a nursing background I have always known that the body needs rest and nourishment during the sleep cycle and the digestive tract needs a rest from breaking down food.  Having that 12 hour period without food was quiet time for my body and my body was not hyped up from caffeine, sugar or alcohol.  I also felt keeping a clean diet was effective of not having my system raise havoc.  I also woke up feeling like I had a good night’s rest.

3.  I pooped every day!

Need I say more.

4.  I became more conscious of what I put into my mouth!

It  forced me to be attentive to what I was buying and what nutritional value the food had.  You would be amazed what sources of food has protein in it.  It was also important to note how I felt after I ate certain foods.  I felt much lighter overall and my digestive tract did not have to work as hard.

5.  Brain fog went by the wayside.

My thoughts were clearer and I was less anxious.

6.  My mood was brighter and my Central Nervous System was more at ease.

I’m attributing my calmness to no sugar, caffeine and who knows no gluten and dairy.  I remember a week after I came off the cleanse I had a can of ginger ale and instantaneously I felt exhausted and my brain was in a fog.  The first week of the cleanse “I was fit to be tied” and after that I felt more even keeled.

7.  Put me on tract for a “better eating cycle”

I decided that my health was important to me and taking the time to investigate my eating choices was worth it to me.  After 21 days I was more mindful of what I put in my mouth and how my body reacted to the food.  IT was as if I broke an old habit and began a new one.   I was making conscious choices and stayed on an eating schedule.

8.  I became more Confident and looked better.

Doing something for myself and feeling healthier and lighter gave me a boost of confidence.  Friends would ask what have I done differently and wanted information about this cleanse.

9.  I loved my juices, smoothies and food choices!

The receipes are endless with this cleanse.

10.  You don’t need to sign up and do his protocol (unless you find it helpful).  I just got his information off line and did it on my own.

11.  Your worth it!

Proper nutrition is important for your well-being.

12.  Yes, you still can have dessert!

I love desert  and that has always been the hardest part for me until I started experimenting with other options such as gluten free, whole foods and different replacements for sugar.

13.  When you make conscious choices your life always improves.

With love,  Anne

How To Keep The Heart Open!

Why Do We Close our Hearts?

I can only speak from direct experience.  First I would say that we are not brought up with the tools to keep an open heart.  It is not something my parents taught me or I was taught in school.  I’ve heard many times just open your heart ~ Well what the heck does that mean?   At that point I became curious and I began noticing what I noticed.   I noticed I would nIMG_0155-300x200ot feel my emotions ~ for example my anger, sadness or grief, and I felt ill-equipped.  I began to notice there was this heaviness I accumulated in my body and I believe it was because I did not process my own pain.  As time went on I began to get in touch with my anger, sadness, hurt and fear.  As I began to get in touch with these aspects I began to feel lighter and to my amazement less depressed.   Oh here is another big one for me!  I also noticed when I interacted with others I was too involved with their stories.  Over the last 5 years I have been willing to acknowledge my feelings and as I do I unravel.

How to open your heart!

1.  It has taken a lot of courage and trust to do this.   A willingness to open to life and feel.     It takes time and patience and a willingness to meet life from a brand new platform.  It takes baby steps to put something new into motion.  We all have our patterns so be gentle with the self.

2.  If you have heard of that saying it takes a village to bring up a child I believe there is a lot of truth to that.  Find support, people who are honest and who will empower you.  Don’t take No for an answer.   We are more alike than different.  As mother Theresa says “do good anyways.”

3.  I believe authenticity is vital to our well=being.  It is so easy to get caught in societal roles and responsibility. when we are missing the point of just being ourselves.

4.  Find something in your life to be grateful for.  Make a list everyday.  It takes time to change patterns.

5.  Love on your pets!

6.  Do good for someone in need!

7.  Prioritze yourself.  Spend an hour every day to nuture your spirit.

8.  Walk away from people who drag you down.

9.  If it does not feel good do not do it.  The same goes for food choices.

10.  Get out in nature.

11.  Never go to bed angry.

12.  Do more listening than talking.

13.  Listen to your intuition.

14.  Say I am sorry and as Mother Theresa has said, “forgive them anyway!”
